About Us

• We are a friendly local history society based in Shincliffe, Co Durham in the North East of England.
• We meet on the 3rd Monday of every month from September to June where we enjoy a varied programme of talks by guest speakers or visit local places of interest.
• The monthly meetings are open to the public (non-members pay a small fee) and are usually held in the Church Hall, Shincliffe.
• We have a formal constitution and a committee which deals with the Society's business.
• We welcome both information and enquiries about the history of Shincliffe and surrounding area.
